What This Role Involves

This internship offers hands-on experience in the operating room for graduate nurses and registered nurses. Interns will assist with patient care, surgical procedures, and support staff in ensuring a safe and efficient environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
• Participate in the setup and breakdown of operating rooms
• Support the surgical team during procedures
• Adhere to strict infection control protocols
• Document patient care activities accurately
• Follow hospital policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Current graduate nurse or registered nurse in good standing with the state board of nursing
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required
• A strong understanding of sterile techniques and infection control practices
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• A commitment to patient safety and quality care
