Role Overview

The Emergency Communications Operator (ECO) is a critical role within St. Luke's Health Network, Inc., responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective communication between emergency responders and healthcare providers during medical emergencies. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls from 911 dispatchers or other sources
• Provide clear and concise information to first responders regarding patient conditions and medical histories
• Assist in the triage process by prioritizing patients based on severity of condition
• Document all interactions and maintain accurate records
• Work closely with emergency room staff to ensure a smooth handover of patient care

What We're Looking For

• A minimum of 1 year experience in emergency communications or related field
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
• Prioritization and time management skills
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if required)
