What This Role Involves

This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in the operating room environment for graduate nurses and registered nurses. Interns will work closely with experienced surgical teams, learning about patient care, sterile techniques, and the intricacies of operating room procedures.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing patients for surgery by ensuring all necessary equipment is available and properly sterilized.
• Participate in preoperative assessments and postoperative care as directed by supervising nurses.
• Aid in the setup, operation, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Contribute to a safe and efficient operating room environment through adherence to protocol and best practices.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a graduate nurse or registered nurse is preferred but not required.
• A strong understanding of medical terminology and basic surgical procedures is essential.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective teamwork.
• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments.
