Role Overview

As a Teaching Assistant in Nursing at Ottawa University, you'll provide direct support to faculty and enhance the educational experience for nursing students pursuing degrees in our respected program. This part-time position offers meaningful engagement in both classroom and laboratory environments, giving you the opportunity to develop teaching skills while reinforcing your own nursing knowledge and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing faculty during lectures, seminars, skills demonstrations, and laboratory sessions
• Provide academic support and peer tutoring to nursing students during scheduled office hours and study sessions
• Prepare, maintain, and organize nursing lab equipment, supplies, and educational materials
• Support grading and assessment activities under direct faculty supervision
• Document and report student progress and engagement to course instructors
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative learning environment that promotes student success

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in or completion of an Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or graduate nursing studies
• Solid grasp of nursing fundamentals, patient care principles, and healthcare practices
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work productively with students from diverse backgrounds and learning styles
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
