About the Role
As a Substitute Transportation Monitor with Perrysburg School District, you will step in on an as-needed basis to support bus drivers and watch over students during their daily routes. This classified substitute position plays a key part in maintaining a calm, secure, and orderly environment on school buses for the 2026-2027 school year. The role pays $13.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise students riding the bus and help keep the cabin safe and orderly throughout each route.
- Assist the bus driver with monitoring student behavior and managing safe boarding and exiting.
- Support students with care and patience, encouraging respectful conduct during transport.
- Respond appropriately to situations that arise so the driver can focus on operating the vehicle safely.
- Fill in as a substitute when the regular transportation monitor is unavailable.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent credential.
- Valid driver's license.
- Valid State of Ohio Student Monitor license.
- Ability to satisfy all requirements set by the Ohio Department of Education and the District's Board Policy.
