About the Role
The Financial Assistant IV provides high-level financial and administrative support for the PET USP and MR USP under the Yale Biomedical Imaging Institute. This role involves day-to-day financial oversight, monitoring, controlling, and maintaining financial activity of all USP accounts, including the review and analysis of expenditures, reconciliation of financial statements, budget preparation, quarterly forecasts, and ad hoc analyses. Responsibilities also include tracking and reconciling internal and external revenue, implementing procedures, developing Institute SOPs, performing clerical accounting functions such as journal entries, expense reports, invoices, supplier invoice requests, compliance documents, payroll adjustments, requisitions, and fulfilling the P2P invoice specialist role.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, control, and maintain financial activity of all USP accounts
- Review and analyze expenditures to ensure proper account posting
- Reconcile and analyze financial statements; assist with budget preparation, quarterly forecasts, and ad hoc analyses
- Track and reconcile internal and external revenue
- Implement procedures and develop Institute SOPs
- Perform clerical accounting functions: process/prepare journal entries, expense reports, invoices, supplier invoice requests, compliance documents, payroll accounting adjustments, requisitions
- Fulfill the P2P invoice specialist role
- Independently complete PET USP billing and provide backup for MR USP billing
- Provide minimal finance and administrative support for general Institute functions as needed
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong financial management skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and accounting. A bachelor's degree in finance or a related field is required, along with at least 5 years of relevant work experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software are essential.
