Family Law Attorney

Prevail Recruiting is hiring a remote Family Law Attorney to lead matrimonial and domestic relations cases across Northern Michigan, ideally based in or near Grand Rapids, Kent County, or willing to relocate.

About the Role

This is a full-time, remote Family Law Attorney position supporting a practice centered on Northern Michigan. While the day-to-day work is handled remotely, the role requires periodic in-person travel to courts throughout Northern Michigan, including venues such as Traverse City and Gaylord. Candidates should either live within reach of Grand Rapids, Kent County, or be open to relocating to the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of family law matters across Northern Michigan from a remote home base.
• Represent clients in court, traveling to Northern Michigan jurisdictions including Traverse City and Gaylord as cases require.
• Advise clients on divorce, custody, support, and related domestic relations issues.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, and supporting documentation throughout each case.
• Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts to move matters forward efficiently.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney admitted to practice in the State of Michigan and in good standing.
• Demonstrated experience handling family law and domestic relations cases.
• Located in or near Grand Rapids, Kent County, or willing to relocate to the area.
• Comfortable working remotely while traveling to Northern Michigan courts as needed.
• Strong written and oral advocacy, organization, and client communication skills.
