Facilities Technician

Join Brookfield Properties as a Facilities Technician at our Town East Mall location in Mesquite, Dallas. This full-time position offers the opportunity to maintain and support a major retail real estate asset while developing your technical skills in a growing property management environment.

About the Role

As a Facilities Technician, you'll be the hands-on professional responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems and infrastructure. You'll work directly with our property management team to keep Town East Mall safe, functional, and welcoming for tenants and visitors.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot building issues in a timely manner
• Inspect facilities regularly to identify repairs, code compliance issues, and safety concerns
• Maintain equipment logs and document maintenance activities
• Support landscaping, custodial, and other facility operations as needed
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with applicable building codes

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar facilities role
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, or mechanical equipment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and take direction from supervisors
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Relevant certifications (EPA, HVAC, electrical) are a plus
