What This Role Involves
The role of an Expert Network Engineer at Capitalsolutionsgroup involves providing advanced network support that requires deep system-level design and architecture expertise, particularly in enterprise security and datacenter virtualization. The engineer will be responsible for managing CAN/MAN/LAN infrastructure, packet capture software, TCP/IP protocol stack, routing/switching protocols, stateful firewalls, and L3/L4 access controls across three supported locations.
- Proficient in Cisco IOS, CatOS, NxOS, filter and access control, Ciscoworks, TACACS+, ASA, FWSM, HP Openview, Cisco routers, Cisco Switches, F5/Cisco load balancers, Infiniband, Juniper, FiberChannel (FC) SAN, and VPN (IPSEC)
- Expertise in physical installation and configuration of network routers, switches, load balancers, and security devices
- Provide expert level support including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of network devices
- Experience with system-level design and architecture for enterprise security, datacenter virtualization, and CAN/MAN/LAN infrastructure
- Create system diagrams and present high-level presentations to management. Experienced in packet capture software
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Daily tasks will include ensuring network stability and performance, addressing security concerns, and maintaining datacenter environments. The engineer must be able to troubleshoot complex issues and optimize network configurations for maximum efficiency.
Qualifications
- TS/SCI clearance with both polygraphs is required
- (U) DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification
- Either a Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of experience, or no degree and at least 15 years of experience, or ten years of demonstrable network engineering experience in LAN, architecture, monitoring, security, and protection
