About the Role
The Jr. Network Administrator will support the Space Domain Awareness mission at 19 Space Defense Squadron (SDS) in Dahlgren, Virginia. This role is full-time and requires an on-site presence 24/7 to meet operational timelines.
- Manage communication data lines
- Administer technical services for maintaining and administration of those data lines
- Handle communication security (COMSEC) management
- Provide operational support to the facility
- Maintain connectivity between 19 SDS and its network of sensors in the Space Surveillance Network
- Manage COMSEC accounts and equipment
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and restore data line connectivity during outages
- Respond to and apply updates to data lines and COMSEC equipment
- Coordinate with base infrastructure support
- Liaise with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) on outages, upgrades, and future projects
What You'll Do
The Jr. Network Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the network infrastructure to ensure seamless communication between 19 SDS and its sensors in the Space Surveillance Network. This includes managing COMSEC accounts and equipment, troubleshooting and restoring data line connectivity during outages, responding to updates, coordinating with base support, and liaising with DISA on various projects.
Requirements
- Candidate must have a TS/SCI clearance
- IAT II certification (CompTIA Security+)
- Knowledge of network administration, communication data lines, and COMSEC management
- Ability to work on-site 24/7 as required by the mission
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle critical situations promptly
