Layton Construction Company is hiring a Senior Safety Coordinator for Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) in Albuquerque. This full-time position is a critical leadership role focused on ensuring construction sites operate with the highest environmental, safety, and health standards across the company's project portfolio. Based in Albuquerque and requiring regular travel throughout the United States, you'll partner directly with project teams to embed safety excellence into every aspect of construction operations.

About the Role

The Senior Safety Coordinator serves as a trusted advisor and advocate for environmental, safety, and health practices at the site level. You'll work to ensure Layton Construction's commitment to "The Layton Way"—our company culture and values—translates into consistent, effective safety implementation on active projects. This role combines strategic program development with hands-on site engagement, requiring both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to influence safety culture across diverse construction teams.

What You'll Do

• Support project teams in implementing and maintaining environmental, safety, and health programs that meet or exceed regulatory standards
• Conduct site safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments to identify risks and opportunities for continuous improvement
• Develop and deliver safety training, education, and awareness initiatives to construction crews and supervisors
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis, documenting findings and recommending preventive actions
• Partner with project managers and safety personnel to integrate safety planning into project execution
• Travel regularly to construction sites throughout the United States to provide on-site safety leadership and oversight
• Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, industry standards, and company safety policies
