As an Employment Specialist/Job Coach, you'll play a vital role in helping adults achieve employment goals and sustain rewarding careers with local employers. This professional position combines direct job coaching, skill development, and individualized support to create successful employment outcomes for both job candidates and the organizations that hire them.

What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive job assessments and develop personalized employment plans based on each individual's strengths, interests, and employment potential
• Provide hands-on job training and coaching at workplace sites, teaching job duties, workplace expectations, and professional communication skills
• Design and implement workplace accommodations that enable job seekers to perform tasks accurately and independently
• Establish collaborative relationships with local businesses, identifying employment opportunities and negotiating inclusive hiring practices
• Deliver ongoing support and advocacy to both employees and employers, troubleshooting challenges and facilitating long-term employment retention
• Track progress, maintain detailed documentation, and communicate outcomes with supervisors and stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• Experience in job coaching, employment services, vocational rehabilitation, or a related disability services field
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust with diverse populations
• Problem-solving mindset and flexibility in supporting individuals with varying support needs
• Knowledge of disability accommodations and best practices in competitive employment
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites within Santa Cruz County
• Commitment to helping individuals with disabilities achieve economic self-sufficiency and workplace inclusion
