IMEG Consultants is hiring an Electrical Project Engineer for full-time employment based in Idaho Falls, Bonneville County, with additional opportunities in Sacramento, CA, and Reno, NV. This role combines independent project leadership with collaborative problem-solving on complex electrical engineering initiatives across diverse building and infrastructure systems.
Position Summary
You'll advance your engineering career by directing electrical design efforts on projects of moderate scope while supporting senior engineers on larger, complex initiatives. Your responsibilities will span the full project lifecycle—from initial concept through detailed design, specifications, and coordination with field teams—ensuring each electrical system meets performance, safety, and compliance requirements.
Core Duties
- Direct electrical design development for assigned projects
- Partner with senior engineering staff and multidisciplinary teams on high-complexity work
- Coordinate electrical system integration with architects, general contractors, and other consultants
- Prepare comprehensive design drawings, system specifications, and technical documentation
- Verify designs comply with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and client specifications
- Estimate project costs, timelines, and resource requirements
- Communicate project progress and technical findings to clients and internal stakeholders
Who We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline
- Professional Engineer license or enrollment in the licensure pathway
- Demonstrated experience designing electrical systems for commercial or institutional buildings
- Working proficiency with electrical design software and CAD platforms
- Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code and applicable safety standards
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a collaborative work style
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality work on schedule
