Echocardiogram Technician – Respiratory Cardiopulmonary

ChristusHealth. is seeking a dedicated Echocardiogram Technician - Respiratory Cardiopulmonary professional to join our cardiology team in Alamogordo, Otero County. In this part-time role, you'll perform echocardiography procedures and contribute to patient heart health assessments using state-of-the-art ultrasound technology.

About the Role

As an Echocardiogram Technician in our Cardiopulmonary Services department, you will provide essential ultrasound imaging support for cardiac patient care. Working Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, you'll apply your technical skills and clinical knowledge to help cardiologists diagnose and monitor heart conditions. This part-time position offers structured scheduling that allows you to balance professional responsibilities with personal commitments.

What You'll Do

• Perform transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography procedures following established clinical protocols and quality standards
• Operate and maintain echocardiography ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper function and safety compliance
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain the examination process, and ensure their comfort and safety throughout
• Acquire, optimize, and archive high-quality cardiac ultrasound images and Doppler recordings for physician interpretation
• Document patient information, procedure findings, and technical data accurately in electronic health records
• Collaborate with cardiologists, sonologists, and interdisciplinary clinical staff to support comprehensive cardiac assessments
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols, HIPAA privacy regulations, and quality assurance standards

What We're Looking For

• Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with echocardiography credentials (RCS or equivalent), or comparable clinical experience
• Solid understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and echocardiographic imaging principles
• Demonstrated proficiency in echocardiography equipment and ultrasound imaging software
• Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills in a clinical healthcare setting
• Ability to work independently while remaining responsive to team collaboration needs
• Detail-oriented approach with commitment to acquiring diagnostic-quality images consistently
• Physical capability to position patients and equipment as required during procedures
• Dependable attendance and commitment to your assigned part-time schedule
