Early Childhood Aftercare

St. Martin's Episcopal School in River Ridge, Jefferson Parish is hiring for an Early Childhood Aftercare position. This is a part-time role supporting our after-school care program, where you'll work with infants through age 4 in a warm, nurturing environment during afternoon hours.

About the Role

We're looking for a compassionate and reliable Early Childhood Aftercare staff member to join our team. In this part-time afternoon position, you'll provide hands-on care and supervision for our youngest students (infants through age 4) as part of our structured after-school program. This role is essential in creating a safe, supportive environment where young children can transition smoothly from their school day into afternoon activities and enrichment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide direct care for infants through 4-year-olds during the 3–6 p.m. afternoon hours
• Implement age-appropriate activities, games, and learning experiences
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming care environment following school standards
• Support children's social, emotional, and developmental growth
• Foster warm, responsive relationships with each child in your care
• Communicate daily with parents and guardians about their child's afternoon experience
• Adhere to all St. Martin's Episcopal School policies, procedures, and safety protocols

What We're Looking For

• Availability to work 3–6 p.m. daily as a part-time team member
• Experience or demonstrated comfort working with infants and very young children
• Knowledge of child development and best practices in early childhood care
• Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
• Reliability, punctuality, and a patient, warm, encouraging approach
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a dedicated team
