The State of South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice is hiring a Director of Youth in Transition for our office in Dutch Fork, Richland County. This full-time leadership position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people transitioning toward independence and success.
About the Role
The Director of Youth in Transition will oversee comprehensive programs and services designed to support young people as they navigate critical developmental transitions. This role provides strategic direction for initiatives focused on helping youth build independence, access educational and employment opportunities, strengthen family and community connections, and achieve lasting success beyond the juvenile justice system.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development and delivery of transition programs that prepare youth for adult responsibilities
- Supervise and develop program staff to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery
- Build and maintain partnerships with schools, employers, housing providers, and community organizations
- Design and implement evidence-based youth development practices and transition planning approaches
- Evaluate program outcomes and performance, using data to drive program improvements
- Ensure all programs comply with state and federal regulations and best practices
- Advocate for adequate resources and supportive policies benefiting youth in transition
