This full-time leadership role offers the opportunity to guide transformative energy technology through complex regulatory approval processes and position Radiant as the industry leader in portable, fail-safe microreactor deployment.

About the Role

As Director of Regulatory Affairs, you'll own the regulatory strategy, government engagement, and licensing pathway for Radiant's microreactor technology. You'll serve as the primary point of contact with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, federal agencies, state regulators, and international bodies. Your strategic decisions will directly impact our ability to bring mass-produced, transportable nuclear power to market and deploy solutions that replace conventional diesel generators.

What You'll Do

  • Lead preparation of regulatory applications, technical submissions, safety documentation, and licensing submissions
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Department of Energy, state agencies, and regulatory bodies
  • Lead regulatory affairs strategy and execution, establishing the function as the organization grows
  • Identify regulatory barriers and opportunities; advise executive leadership on compliance roadmaps and market deployment timelines
  • Ensure company-wide adherence to nuclear safety regulations, export control requirements, and federal and state laws
  • Represent Radiant at regulatory proceedings, industry forums, and government stakeholder meetings

What We're Looking For

  • 15+ years of nuclear regulatory affairs, nuclear licensing, or senior-level government and regulatory experience in highly regulated industries
  • Demonstrated expertise in NRC regulations, nuclear licensing pathways, and nuclear safety frameworks
  • Proven success managing complex regulatory approvals in a startup or high-growth, fast-paced environment
  • Established relationships and credibility with U.S. nuclear regulators or equivalent federal agency experience
  • Ability to translate regulatory complexity into clear organizational strategy and actionable execution plans
  • Experience leading regulatory functions and building organizational capabilities
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physical sciences, law, or related discipline; graduate degree preferred
