This full-time, on-site role offers the chance to shape the trajectory of an evolving discovery and early-phase pipeline.
About the Role
As Director, Early Clinical Development - Nephrology/Immunology (N/I), you will guide the early clinical development efforts that fuel the advancement of Otsuka's discovery and early-phase portfolio within the Early Development Organization (EDO) of OPDC. Reporting to the ECD Nephrology/Immunology Therapeutic Area Head, you will serve as a strategic scientific and clinical leader with full ownership of the end-to-end early clinical development strategy across nephrology and immunology programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct early clinical development (ECD) initiatives that drive growth across Otsuka's discovery and early-phase pipeline.
- Define and execute a comprehensive, end-to-end early clinical development strategy for nephrology and immunology assets.
- Provide strategic scientific and clinical leadership in partnership with the ECD N/I Therapeutic Area Head.
- Collaborate cross-functionally within the Early Development Organization to translate early-stage science into actionable clinical programs.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in early clinical development, ideally within nephrology, immunology, or closely related therapeutic areas.
- A strong scientific and clinical foundation suited to leading discovery and early-phase pipeline activities.
- Proven ability to set and own clinical development strategy from concept through early clinical phases.
- Effective leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills within a complex pharmaceutical research environment.
