Pierce Technology Corp is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team on a remote, contract basis. This is an opportunity to design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure and deployment systems that power our operations across the United States.
About This Position
As a DevOps Engineer, you'll own the infrastructure and tooling that enables our engineering teams to deploy, scale, and monitor applications reliably. You'll work across cloud platforms, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines, solving complex problems around system reliability, automation, and operational efficiency. This contract role offers the flexibility to contribute meaningful technical impact while working remotely from anywhere in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles
- Build and optimize continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines
- Implement container orchestration and microservices deployment strategies
- Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure application health and uptime
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and implement solutions that improve system reliability
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to streamline deployment processes and reduce time-to-production
- Document infrastructure architecture and operational procedures for team knowledge sharing
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Strong hands-on experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible)
- Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with pipeline tools
- Linux system administration and scripting expertise (Bash, Python, or similar languages)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
