About the Role
As the Middle School Boys Wrestling Assistant Coach, you will support the head coach in building a positive, disciplined, and motivating program for young wrestlers in Knoxville. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for someone passionate about developing athletic skill, sportsmanship, and character in middle school students throughout the 2025-2026 wrestling season.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and leading effective wrestling practices and skill-building drills.
- Support athletes in developing proper technique, conditioning, and competitive readiness.
- Reinforce teamwork, discipline, and good sportsmanship at every practice and match.
- Help supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, and team activities.
- Promote the safety and well-being of all participants in line with district guidelines.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the sport of wrestling.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate middle school-aged athletes.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to positive role modeling.
- Any coaching authorization, certification, or clearance required by Iowa school athletics and Knoxville Community School District.
