About the Role
As a Deputy District Attorney I at San Bernardino County, you will prosecute criminal cases across a range of offense types, from misdemeanors to felonies. You'll work within the District Attorney's office to advance justice and protect the community through rigorous legal advocacy and case preparation for trial.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and file legal motions, charging documents, and pleadings in criminal proceedings
- Conduct legal research and analysis on criminal law matters and case precedent
- Represent the People of California in court proceedings and trials
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and investigators to develop and strengthen cases
- Interview witnesses and review evidence to prepare cases for prosecution
- Negotiate resolutions, plea agreements, and case dispositions as appropriate
- Maintain thorough case documentation in compliance with discovery and ethical obligations
- Develop courtroom skills and trial experience under the mentorship of experienced prosecutors
What We're Looking For
- Applicants pending California State Bar membership or scheduled to take the CA State Bar examination
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
