CT Tech – Inpatient

Join Carilion Clinic as a full-time CT Technician — Inpatient at our Garden, Roanoke location. You'll operate advanced computed tomography imaging equipment, working directly with patients and radiologists to produce the high-quality diagnostic images that guide patient care decisions every day.

About the Role

As an inpatient CT Technician at Carilion Clinic, you're a critical member of our diagnostic imaging team. Your work involves positioning patients, operating sophisticated computed tomography scanners, and delivering the precise images clinicians depend on to diagnose and treat complex medical conditions. This is hands-on healthcare work that directly impacts patient outcomes.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Prepare inpatients for CT scans, explaining procedures and addressing questions to ensure comfort and cooperation
• Operate computed tomography equipment following established protocols to capture diagnostic-quality images
• Position patients accurately to optimize image clarity and minimize the need for retakes
• Monitor patients during imaging procedures and respond appropriately to any medical needs that arise
• Maintain scanner equipment, perform quality assurance checks, and uphold a clean, safe imaging environment
• Coordinate with radiologists, nurses, and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow
• Document patient information, scan parameters, and imaging results with precision and accuracy

What We're Looking For

• Current certification as a CT Technician (ARRT or equivalent credential)
• Demonstrated experience operating CT scanners in a healthcare facility
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in fast-paced clinical environments
• Commitment to producing high-quality diagnostic images and attention to technical detail
• Physical capability to safely lift and position patients following proper body mechanics
• Flexibility to support inpatient care needs, including varied shift schedules
