Construction Field Assistant

Smooth Flooring, LLC is seeking a full-time Construction Field Assistant to support our specialty flooring contracting operations in Lincolnshire, Richland County. If you're interested in hands-on work with professional installation teams and want to grow your skills in the construction flooring trade, this role offers valuable daily experience alongside experienced supervisors and installers.

About the Role

As our Construction Field Assistant, you'll serve as a key support member on flooring installation and specialty contracting jobsites. Working directly with our general manager, field supervisors, installers, account coordinators, and subcontractors, you'll help coordinate daily operations and maintain the high quality standards that define Smooth Flooring, LLC's reputation. This full-time position puts you at the center of project execution, from initial setup through final inspection.

What You'll Do

• Support field supervisors and installation crews with jobsite setup, material staging, and equipment preparation
• Coordinate communication and logistics between field teams, account coordinators, and subcontractors
• Monitor jobsite cleanliness, organization, and adherence to quality standards
• Assist with quality control checks and report any issues to the general manager or field supervisor
• Help troubleshoot problems and adapt to changing project needs in real time
• Track materials, maintain inventory records, and ensure nothing goes missing or overlooked
• Support safe jobsite practices and help enforce company safety protocols

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills—you'll coordinate with multiple teams daily
• Attention to detail and genuine commitment to quality work
• Physical capability to perform jobsite tasks, including standing, lifting, and moving materials
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and respect established protocols
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Openness to learning the specialty flooring contracting trade from experienced professionals
