What This Role Involves

The role of a Commercial Counsel at LaunchDarkly involves leveraging your contract negotiation and drafting skills to support the Sales organization by drafting, negotiating, and closing commercial transactions. You will also manage a variety of vendor, channel, and partnership contracts. As part of the Legal team, you'll collaborate cross-functionally with other teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently negotiate a range of customer-related agreements including SaaS agreements, data processing agreements (DPAs), distribution/partner agreements, NDAs, and other transactions related to the sale of LaunchDarkly’s products and services.
• Independently negotiate and manage vendor contracts.
• Provide clear and pragmatic legal advice on contract terms, including security and data privacy requirements.
• Participate in creating and maintaining contracting resources such as contract templates, playbooks, and handbooks.
• Contribute to projects aimed at improving internal processes and scaling the department, including developing associated tools and procedures.

Requirements

• Leverage your experience in contract negotiation and drafting for commercial transactions.
• Work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable working within Eastern Time Zone hours to support EMEA customers.
• Experience with technology required for remote work across multiple time zones.
