About the Role
As a Clinical Dietitian I in our inpatient nutrition services, you'll assess patients' nutritional status, identify deficiencies, and design comprehensive nutrition care plans for patients across various medical conditions. Working within our Gaithersburg hospital setting, you'll collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to integrate nutrition support into the broader treatment strategy, optimizing clinical outcomes and patient recovery.
What You'll Do
- Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments, including nutrition-focused physical examinations
- Identify malnutrition risk and develop evidence-based Medical Nutrition Therapy recommendations
- Create individualized nutrition support plans based on patients' medical diagnoses and clinical needs
- Provide patient and family education on therapeutic diets and nutrition management
- Monitor nutrition interventions and adjust recommendations based on clinical response
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams in accordance with healthcare standards and regulations
- Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation meeting all regulatory and institutional requirements
What We're Looking For
- Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD) credential
- Maryland dietitian license or ability to obtain
- Clinical expertise in Medical Nutrition Therapy and nutrition support modalities
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for complex patient cases
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Experience in acute care, inpatient hospital settings, or clinical nutrition preferred
- Commitment to evidence-based nutrition practice and regulatory compliance
