About the Role

As a Clinical Dietitian at MedStar Health, you'll be a key member of our multidisciplinary care team, translating medical nutrition science into practical patient solutions. You'll assess nutritional needs, design individualized care plans, and guide patients and their families through the nutrition counseling process while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, case managers, and therapists to optimize overall patient care.

What You'll Do

• Conduct thorough nutritional assessments and gather clinical information to identify each patient's unique dietary needs
• Develop and implement personalized medical nutrition therapy plans aligned with clinical diagnoses and treatment goals
• Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition interventions based on clinical outcomes and patient response
• Educate patients and family members on therapeutic diets, nutritional requirements, and evidence-based dietary modifications
• Partner with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure nutrition strategies complement overall care plans
• Document nutritional assessments and recommendations in patient medical records
• Stay current with evolving clinical nutrition guidelines and best practices

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Nutrition Science
• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required
• Strong communication and counseling skills with proven ability to educate diverse patient populations
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate clinical recommendations clearly
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for developing appropriate medical nutrition therapy
• Compassion for patients and commitment to supporting their nutritional health goals
• Excellent organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment
