About the Role

As an Auto Bodily Injury Claims Examiner handling litigated files, you will own a caseload of complex claims from first notice through resolution — partnering with defense counsel, evaluating exposure, and driving files toward appropriate outcomes. You'll bring sharp analytical judgment and solid litigation experience to a collaborative, client-focused environment.

What You'll Do

  • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve auto bodily injury claims that have entered or are approaching litigation
  • Analyze coverage, establish reserves, and document claim activity with accuracy throughout the file lifecycle
  • Direct and coordinate with outside defense counsel on litigation strategy, discovery, and case management
  • Evaluate medical records, expert reports, and demand packages to assess liability and damages
  • Negotiate settlements within granted authority and escalate when necessary
  • Maintain compliance with jurisdictional regulations, client guidelines, and Sedgwick best practices
  • Communicate proactively with claimants, attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders

What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience handling auto bodily injury claims, with direct exposure to litigated files required
  • Working knowledge of litigation processes, including attorney management, discovery, and settlement negotiation
  • Ability to read and interpret medical records, legal correspondence, and coverage documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple active files simultaneously
  • Proficiency with claims management systems and standard office software
  • Maine adjuster licensing or the ability to obtain required licensure
