About the Role
As a Class A CDL Truck Driver with Dollar General Fleet, you'll transport freight between our regional distribution centers and store locations across the country. This is a home-weekly route, allowing you to balance career and family. You'll play a vital role in our supply chain, ensuring goods reach Dollar General stores reliably and efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Operate a tractor-trailer safely and professionally on regional routes, returning home weekly
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues promptly
- Maintain accurate logbooks and comply with DOT regulations and federal safety standards
- Load and verify cargo placement to ensure safe transport and product integrity
- Communicate with dispatch and warehouse teams to coordinate pickups and deliveries
- Monitor fuel consumption, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and contribute to fleet safety culture
What We're Looking For
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL A) with current medical certification
- Clean driving record with no major violations or disqualifying incidents
- Professional attitude, reliability, and strong communication skills
- Ability to pass background check and DOT-required drug screening
- Willingness to comply with company safety policies and fleet maintenance standards
