Automtive Test Technician – Torrance

Kett Engineering Corporation is seeking a full-time Automotive Test Technician to join our Torrance, Los Angeles County location. In this hands-on role, you'll maintain and operate our test vehicle fleet while collecting critical performance data that powers our engineering programs.

About This Position

As an Automotive Test Technician with Kett Engineering Corporation, you'll be responsible for supporting the daily operations of our test fleet. This is a full-time position where you'll combine vehicle maintenance expertise with data collection work, ensuring our test vehicles are properly maintained, instrumented, and ready for evaluation projects. You'll report to our engineering team and work closely with colleagues across testing and operations.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair on test vehicles to maintain fleet readiness
• Order vehicle parts, manage inventory systems, and track component availability
• Install data acquisition systems and specialized instrumentation on test vehicles
• Operate proprietary data collection equipment and ensure accurate recording of test results
• Support specialized automotive testing programs and coordinate with engineering teams
• Diagnose vehicle problems and execute repair procedures following technical specifications
• Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance, repairs, and testing activities

Who We're Looking For

• Experience with automotive maintenance, repair work, or vehicle diagnostics
• Comfort working with technical equipment, data systems, and test instrumentation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document work accurately
• Solid mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver's license and willingness to operate test vehicles for evaluation purposes
• Ability to follow technical procedures and work collaboratively with engineering staff
