Senior Project & Commissioning Engineer

Stark Tech is seeking a results-driven Senior Project & Commissioning Engineer to lead renewable natural gas (RNG) plant start-ups in Burlington, Chittenden County. If you thrive at the intersection of hands-on engineering and project leadership, this full-time, on-site role offers the chance to own a facility's journey from testing to full operation.

About the Role

As a Senior Project & Commissioning Engineer at Stark Tech, you will serve as the technical subject matter expert guiding an RNG plant through every milestone, beginning with Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and continuing through complete commissioning and operational acceptance. This is a customer-facing and internally collaborative position based in Burlington, Vermont, where your ability to align multiple teams will directly shape a successful, on-budget launch.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the full commissioning lifecycle of RNG plant start-ups, from SAT through operational acceptance.
• Act as the lead technical authority, providing expert guidance on plant systems and processes.
• Coordinate the efforts of customers, internal teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to satisfy start-up and operational targets.
• Drive each phase to completion in a timely, cost-conscious manner without compromising quality or safety.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the client and internal engineering groups throughout the project.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated senior-level experience in project engineering and commissioning, ideally within RNG, biogas, or related process or energy facilities.
• Deep technical command of plant start-up procedures, including Site Acceptance Testing and operational handover.
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners toward shared deadlines.
• Strong communication skills suited to both customer-facing and internal collaboration.
• A practical, problem-solving mindset focused on delivering on schedule and within cost.
• Willingness to work on-site in Burlington, Chittenden County (this role is not remote).
