Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee

Safelite is hiring an Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee in Indian Island, Penobscot County, to join our team and begin a rewarding career in auto glass repair and installation. This full-time position combines hands-on training with real-world experience, preparing you to become a certified, independent glass technician serving customers throughout the region.

About the Role

This trainee position is your entry point into professional auto glass service. You'll participate in a comprehensive training program that teaches the technical skills and safety practices essential for auto glass work. Through guided supervision and practical experience, you'll learn how to perform glass installation, repairs, and recalibrations on a wide variety of vehicles. After successfully completing the training curriculum and demonstrating proficiency, you'll earn your SafeTech certification and the credentials to work independently as an auto glass technician.

What You'll Do

• Master auto glass installation techniques for windshields, side windows, rear windows, and specialty glass
• Learn glass damage assessment, repair methods, and replacement procedures
• Train in windshield recalibration for vehicles with advanced safety sensors
• Work safely with glass, adhesives, and installation tools under supervisory guidance
• Build strong customer communication and service skills
• Complete all required modules of the SafeTech training and certification program
• Maintain shop cleanliness, equipment care, and safety standards

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, standing, and working at various angles
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
• Honest, dependable work ethic and positive professional attitude
• Eagerness to develop new skills in a hands-on trade
