About the Role

As Assistant Bakery Team Lead at our Watervliet location, you'll work alongside the bakery manager to oversee daily bakery operations and maintain the high standards our customers expect. You'll be the backbone of our bakery team, ensuring smooth operations, quality products, and excellent customer experiences every shift.

What You'll Do

• Support the bakery manager in directing team activities and maintaining bakery operations
• Inspect bakery products regularly to verify freshness, quality, and proper availability on display
• Enforce food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols consistently throughout the bakery
• Train new team members on bakery procedures, safety standards, and company policies
• Oversee merchandise presentation and ensure product rotation follows established guidelines
• Assist customers with product selection and answer questions about bakery offerings
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow all health department regulations
• Help resolve operational challenges and escalate issues to management as needed

What We're Looking For

• Previous bakery, food service, or grocery experience preferred
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
• Ability to lead and support a team in a fast-paced retail environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Reliability and flexibility with scheduling
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds regularly

Compensation

Pay range: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
