Associate Director of Product Development

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential alternative data and analytics firm in their search for an Associate Director of Product Development. Our client operates at the intersection of data science and financial intelligence, serving institutional investors and enterprise clients who rely on sophisticated market insights to drive critical decisions.

This is a remote opportunity within the United States, with East Coast work hours expected. The role offers significant ownership over product strategy and the chance to shape how alternative data products are discovered, developed, and delivered to sophisticated financial customers.

Responsibilities

• Drive revenue growth by building new alternative data products spanning entire sectors or financial verticals
• Explore and evaluate new datasets for potential commercialization and client value
• Collaborate with partnerships teams to direct the sourcing of new datasets and build relationships with prospective data partners
• Understand the workflows, problems, and needs of institutional users through client interviews and revenue team collaboration
• Drive product strategy that creates differentiated value on top of alternative data assets
• Communicate progress, roadmaps, and strategic decisions to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
• Potentially manage or build out a team of Product Development Analysts as the function scales

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of alternative data experience, including evaluating, sourcing, and working with multiple datasets
• Proven track record of successfully developing new alternative data research or feed products with measurable business impact
• Client-facing or buy-side exposure with a strong understanding of financial client needs and use cases
• Customer-centric product thinking—using data and feedback to guide high-impact decisions
• Demonstrated product innovation: identifying opportunities early, prioritizing effectively, and executing quickly and iteratively
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams toward shared goals
• Technical understanding of data collection, storage, delivery, and consumption infrastructure
• Transparent communication style with the ability to stay aligned with company objectives
• Availability during East Coast work hours

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this position is $185,000 to $200,000 annually, with an annual target performance bonus of 10%. The role also includes an equity component. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal benchmarking.
