About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Animates Vetcare in Tauranga. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the store manager and ensuring that the store operates efficiently while providing exceptional customer service.

• Assist with day-to-day operations of the store
• Support the store manager in managing staff schedules and performance
• Ensure the store is well-stocked, clean, and presentable to customers
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively
• Participate in community events and promotions to enhance brand visibility

What You'll Do

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall success of the store. Your duties will include:

• Assisting with inventory management and ordering
• Overseeing cash handling and ensuring compliance with financial policies
• Participating in staff training sessions and mentoring new team members
• Maintaining a positive and professional work environment
• Collaborating with the store manager to develop and implement strategies for improving sales and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

To be successful as an Assistant Store Manager, you should have:

• A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a retail or service-based environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• A passion for pets and pet care
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
