Core Duties

• Review images for quality and completeness, making adjustments or additional views to ensure diagnostic value before submitting studies for interpretation.
• Document technical findings, patient responses, and exam details accurately in the electronic medical record while following established protocols and infection-control standards.
• Maintain and clean ultrasound machines, transducers, and accessories, reporting equipment issues promptly and assisting with inventory of supplies.
• Collaborate with radiologists, sonographers, and other care-team members to prioritize cases, answer technical questions, and support efficient department workflow.
• Observe patients during procedures for any signs of distress and respond appropriately to ensure comfort and safety throughout the examination.

Requirements

• Current ARDMS registration in relevant specialty areas required for an ARDMS Registered Ultrasound Technologist.
• Completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program or equivalent formal training.
• Solid knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, ultrasound physics, and cross-sectional imaging principles.
• Demonstrated skill in operating ultrasound systems, selecting appropriate transducers, and optimizing image quality across diverse patient populations.
• Strong interpersonal communication abilities to explain procedures clearly and work effectively with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
• Attention to detail for accurate documentation, quality control, and adherence to departmental policies and safety guidelines.
