About the Role
As an Aquatics Swim Instructor at Life Time, you'll deliver engaging swim instruction to members ranging from young beginners to experienced adult swimmers. Working in our fast-paced aquatic centers, you'll develop personalized lesson plans, assess individual swimming proficiency, and create a supportive learning environment where every member can progress safely and confidently.
What You'll Do
- Teach swimming techniques and water safety fundamentals to children and adults at various skill levels
- Assess each member's swimming ability and assign them to appropriate instructional levels
- Design and deliver effective lesson content that builds technique, endurance, and water confidence
- Incorporate life skills education alongside technical instruction for younger swimmers
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe aquatic facility environment
- Document member progress and provide feedback to support continued development
- Collaborate with the aquatics team to deliver a positive member experience
What We're Looking For
- Certified swim instructor or aquatic instructor credential (or willingness to obtain certification)
- Demonstrated ability to teach swimming to diverse age groups
- Strong water safety and CPR/First Aid knowledge
- Excellent communication and patience when working with members of all abilities
- Physical ability to demonstrate techniques and remain active throughout shifts
- Commitment to maintaining facility standards and member safety
