API Consultant (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential data platform organization in their search for an API Consultant based in Hamburg. Our client is a rapidly growing data-as-a-service provider whose API solutions power intelligent decision-making, automation, and AI applications for leading companies worldwide. This role sits at the intersection of technical expertise and customer engagement—you'll be the face of the product, building excitement through compelling demos while ensuring customers achieve sustained success.

Responsibilities

• Pitching & Demoing: Deliver compelling live demonstrations of API and MCP solutions to prospects and customers ranging from analysts to C-level executives. Build and iterate custom demo agents, prompts, and workflows tailored to each customer's use case, creating genuine excitement in every meeting.
• Customer Adoption & Enablement: Guide customers from initial setup through advanced implementations with tailored prompts, agents, onboarding flows, documentation, and tutorials—maintaining momentum from pitch to daily usage.
• Data-Driven Engagement: Leverage product usage data, API analytics, and customer health scores to identify adoption blockers and expansion opportunities. Act proactively with guidance, lifecycle outreach, and refined pitch strategies.
• Integration Success: Ensure smooth API integrations, quickly resolve technical blockers, document best practices, and collaborate with engineering teams on complex challenges.
• Commercial Support: Identify upsell and expansion opportunities and support sales teams with technical storytelling during renewal and growth conversations.
• Feedback Loop: Share insights from customer interactions and usage data with product and engineering teams to refine demo strategies and shape product roadmap.

What We're Looking For

• Presentation Passion: You genuinely love pitching and demoing—presenting energizes rather than drains you. Prior experience delivering demos or pitches with a track record of creating customer excitement.
• Builder & Storyteller: Hands-on experience prototyping agents, workflows, and prompts. Ability to translate technical capabilities into compelling business value narratives.
• API & Integration Experience: Background with API solutions, data integrations, or developer tools. Comfortable with REST APIs, JSON, and authentication methods including OAuth and API keys.
• Customer-Facing Technical Background: Prior role as Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Developer Advocate, Technical Consultant, or pre-sales-oriented Customer Success professional with proven success engaging customers.
• Analytical & Communicative: Comfortable using product data and health scores to drive decisions. Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-Solver: Quick to identify and resolve adoption blockers while guiding customers through technical challenges.
• Bonus: Experience with pre-sales or solution-selling, data pipelines, research environments, B2B data solutions, or product-led growth organizations.
