About the Role
As a Special Education Teacher in this role, you will deliver specialized instruction to students with complex learning needs. Working within a program specifically designed to foster independence and skill development, you'll support learners with autism and related global disabilities through evidence-based teaching practices.
What You'll Do
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction aligned with each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
- Create structured learning activities tailored to students with autism and diverse disability needs
- Collaborate with special education colleagues, general education staff, and families to coordinate consistent educational support
- Monitor student progress through data collection and adjust instructional strategies to meet evolving needs
- Establish a predictable, organized classroom environment that promotes skill building and independence
- Communicate regularly with families about their child's progress, goals, and educational achievements
