The Opportunity
Join Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) as a Mechanical Engineer on the Cable Magnets Engineering team. At CFS, you'll be part of an innovative mission to deliver fusion energy and revolutionize the future of power. Your role will span from initial concept development to final hardware delivery, focusing on design, analysis, documentation, procurement support, and production support.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical designs for cable magnets, performing thermal, structural, and electromagnetic analyses to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Create detailed design notes, technical specifications, and other necessary documents for manufacturing and installation of Cable Magnet hardware and supporting systems.
- Support procurement by preparing and executing manufacturing contracts.
- Collaborate with production and assembly teams to oversee the build and installation of your designs.
Who We're Looking For
We seek a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical design, analysis, and documentation. A strong background in thermal, structural, and electromagnetic analyses is essential. Experience in manufacturing processes and support for production teams is preferred. Excellent communication skills are necessary to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
