Position Summary

A leading international mining company is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the project team delivering a major platinum mining project currently in the execution phase in Zimbabwe. This role offers a unique opportunity for a senior mechanical engineering professional with extensive mining, EPCM and mineral processing experience to play a key technical leadership role across various aspects of the project.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for the platinum mining project
• Ensure compliance with international standards and regulations in project execution
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions that meet project objectives
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on the team
• Contribute to risk management and mitigation strategies for the project

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within mining or EPCM projects
• Demonstrated expertise in mineral processing and mechanical systems design
• Strong understanding of project management principles and practices
• PMP certification is preferred but not mandatory
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
