The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Advocacy and Engagement Manager to join Rare Cancers Australia (RCA) on a part-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to shape national policy and improve outcomes for Australians affected by rare and less common cancers. The position is based in East Bowral, Bowral with no remote working arrangements.
The ideal candidate will have a competitive salary plus access to not-for-profit salary packaging (up to $18,500 per annum). This role offers a full-time or 0.8 FTE opportunity, providing flexibility for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advocacy strategies to support individuals affected by rare cancers
- Engage with government bodies, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to drive policy change
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance the impact of RCA’s initiatives
- Conduct research and analysis to inform advocacy efforts and improve patient outcomes
- Manage and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
What You Bring
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the healthcare or advocacy sector
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful advocacy campaigns
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A passion for improving outcomes for individuals affected by rare cancers
