Position Summary

As a CRT/RRT- PRN serving SIH at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, you will step in to provide skilled respiratory therapy whenever patient needs arise. The focus remains on assessing breathing difficulties, delivering prescribed interventions, and supporting recovery for individuals facing acute or ongoing pulmonary challenges. Working as a CRT/RRT- PRN means contributing your specialized expertise on a flexible per-diem schedule that aligns with the operational demands of St. Joseph Memorial Hospital while ensuring every patient receives timely, evidence-based support from SIH’s clinical team.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough respiratory evaluations by reviewing patient history, performing physical assessments, and interpreting blood gas and pulmonary function data
• Deliver a full range of therapies such as oxygen administration, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and humidity therapy according to protocols
• Set up, monitor, and adjust mechanical ventilators and noninvasive support devices, making real-time modifications to optimize gas exchange
• Respond rapidly to rapid-response or code events by securing airways, facilitating ventilation, and assisting the wider care team at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital
• Instruct patients and family members on correct use of home equipment, breathing exercises, and strategies that promote long-term lung health
• Record all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record so the SIH care team maintains a continuous clinical picture
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and clean respiratory equipment to keep devices ready and fully functional for every CRT/RRT- PRN shift
• Coordinate daily with physicians, nurses, and allied staff to incorporate respiratory goals into the overall plan of care

What You Bring

• Valid CRT or RRT credential demonstrating established competence in respiratory therapy practice
• State licensure or eligibility for licensure that permits practice as a respiratory care professional at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital
• Solid command of modern respiratory modalities, ventilator management, and patient monitoring technologies
• Clear communication skills that allow effective education of patients and seamless collaboration within multi-disciplinary SIH teams
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing clinical priorities and varying patient volumes typical of PRN assignments
• Commitment to infection-control, equipment safety, and quality standards that protect both patients and staff
• Physical readiness to lift equipment, stand for extended periods, and perform hands-on therapy in a busy hospital setting
