Position Summary

As a Meat Clerk at Hyvee, you'll be the backbone of our meat department, handling everything from preparation and packaging to customer interaction and inventory management. Working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, you'll master the skills needed to deliver fresh, quality products while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness. This role offers hands-on experience in retail meat operations and the opportunity to develop expertise in a specialized department.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Prepare, trim, and package meat products according to customer requests and departmental standards
• Stock and rotate meat inventory, ensuring proper organization and freshness
• Maintain clean, attractive meat department displays and work areas
• Operate meat department equipment, including slicers and packaging machines, safely and efficiently
• Assist customers with selections, answer product questions, and provide recommendations
• Follow all food safety regulations and company protocols for handling and storage
• Support team members and contribute to a positive departmental atmosphere
