Architecte matériel Sénior

Exfo is seeking a Senior Hardware Architect to join our engineering team at one of our two locations. In this full-time role, you'll lead the design and development of advanced hardware systems that power next-generation telecommunications and networking solutions.

Role Overview

As Senior Hardware Architect at Exfo, you will own the technical direction of hardware platform development, from conceptualization through deployment. This position combines deep technical expertise with architectural vision, requiring you to influence product strategy while mentoring junior engineering staff. You'll work on complex, mission-critical systems that demand precision, innovation, and rigorous validation.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect hardware systems and electronic components for telecommunications equipment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
• Conduct detailed technical assessments of hardware requirements, trade-offs, and integration challenges across multi-disciplinary teams
• Lead hardware design reviews, validate prototypes, and oversee testing protocols to meet stringent quality and compliance standards
• Develop hardware specifications and documentation; create technical roadmaps aligned with product timelines and business objectives
• Collaborate with firmware, software, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration
• Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering technical growth and establishing best practices across the hardware team

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in hardware design, electronics engineering, or hardware systems architecture
• Strong expertise in circuit design, PCB layout, digital and analog signal processing, or embedded systems
• Demonstrated proficiency with CAD tools, simulation software, and hardware design automation platforms
• Solid understanding of telecommunications standards, networking protocols, or high-speed digital systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex technical projects from conception to production
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
• Strong communication skills in English and/or French; ability to work effectively across geographically distributed teams
