Global Payroll Operations Specialist – France

Rippling is seeking a Global Payroll Operations Specialist based in France to join our team and oversee payroll processes across our growing European customer base. This full-time role combines technical payroll expertise with hands-on operational management in a rapidly scaling SaaS environment.

What This Role Involves

You'll lead end-to-end payroll operations for our France-focused business, ensuring regulatory compliance, data accuracy, and seamless service delivery. Working alongside our HR, Product, and Engineering teams, you'll be responsible for maintaining operational excellence while helping shape the future of Rippling's global payroll platform. This position bridges operations and product strategy, offering exposure to both day-to-day execution and long-term scaling initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Execute all payroll operations for France, including filings, fund transfers, and compliance management
• Investigate and resolve intricate payroll complications and regulatory questions
• Liaise with French tax and social security bodies, including URSSAF and DGFIP
• Partner with Product and Engineering to identify system gaps, fix defects, and enhance compliance features
• Facilitate the launch and growth of Rippling's managed payroll services
• Build repeatable processes, streamline workflows, and identify automation opportunities
• Respond to and resolve customer support requests with precision and urgency
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, standard procedures, and best-practice guides

Requirements

Required experience:

• 3–5+ years managing payroll operations in France
• Deep knowledge of French payroll legislation, including DSN reporting, employer contributions, and tax obligations
• Background in a customer-facing payroll function—such as at a payroll bureau, accounting practice, or payroll software vendor
• Demonstrated capability to handle large volumes of payroll tasks without sacrificing precision
• Proven analytical capability, methodical problem-solving approach, and meticulous attention to detail
• Hands-on experience with payroll software platforms, spreadsheet applications (Excel, Google Sheets), and related tools
• Fluent written and spoken communication in both French and English

Valued qualifications:

• Tenure in a fast-moving technology company or cloud-based SaaS business
• Exposure to payroll process automation or operational redesign projects
• History of working across functional boundaries with technology and product teams
• Familiarity with modern HR information systems or unified payroll platforms
• Track record of scaling operations or engineering business-critical workflows
• Skill in translating operational pain points into product feature opportunities
