Operations Ghostbuster

Zipline is hiring an Operations Ghostbuster for our headquarters in South San Francisco, California. This full-time, in-office role focuses on eliminating operational friction across our global autonomous delivery network to help teams execute faster and more reliably.

About This Position

The heartbeat of Zipline's logistics system is smooth coordination between commercial, operations, product, data, finance, and field teams. Your mission is to spot where coordination breaks down—workflows stall, accountability blurs, decisions delay—and architect solutions that let teams move at speed. This is an ownership role: you'll diagnose root causes, implement fixes, and measure whether execution becomes faster and more reliable. You'll prioritize problems by business impact and delivery-network risk, not urgency alone.

The starting cash range for this role is $112,500 to $300,000. Total compensation may include equity compensation, performance bonuses, and benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and more.

Responsibilities

• Spot workflow delays across commercial, operations, and field teams—manual handoffs, missing data, fuzzy ownership, stalled approvals.
• Scope and prioritize improvement projects using business value, network risk, and operational strategy.
• Design systems—dashboards, automations, workflows, tracking mechanisms—that fix friction and scale with growth.
• Rally stakeholders across sales, marketing, operations, product, data, finance, and field without relying on formal authority.
• Shepherd projects from diagnosis through implementation, adoption, and performance measurement.
• Use operational metrics to prove impact: measure improvements in cycle time, throughput, decision quality, and execution discipline.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years in operations, business operations, growth, go-to-market, strategic programs, revenue operations, logistics, or equivalent high-execution roles.
• At least 2–4 years in fast-scaling companies (technology, SaaS, marketplace, logistics) where you shipped tangible business improvements.
• Proven ability to extract actionable insights from complex data and convert them into sharp priorities and measurable operational gains.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, analytics platforms, spreadsheets, workflow automation, or operational dashboards.
• Track record of influencing cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, operations, product, data, finance, field) without direct authority.
• Self-directed work ethic: you move from diagnosis to action with discipline and speed.
• Willingness to work in-office at our South San Francisco headquarters and travel up to 25% of the time.
