Veoneer Safety Systems, India is recruiting an Embedded Software Development Engineer (8-10 Years) based in Bengaluru. This full-time position develops embedded systems for automotive safety applications.
About This Position
You'll design and maintain software components for automotive passive safety systems. Working within established development standards, you'll contribute to solutions deployed across vehicle platforms globally.
Responsibilities
- Analyse software requirements and prepare low-level specifications with traceability documentation
- Design software architectures and technical documentation
- Build and maintain AUTOSAR-compliant software and applications
- Execute software development, testing, and integration activities
- Create and execute automated test scripts using Python and scripting languages
- Estimate project scope and support scheduling
- Investigate and resolve software defects
- Develop test specifications and conduct validation
- Integrate automotive components across embedded platforms
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions
- Ensure ASPICE, ISO 26262, MISRA compliance
- Report progress and flag risks with mitigation strategies
- Contribute to continuous improvement in development processes
Who We're Looking For
- 8–10 years embedded software engineering in automotive systems, preferably passive safety
- Advanced expertise in AUTOSAR-based development
- Fluency in Embedded C and Assembly-level coding
- Hands-on experience with CAN, UDS, and SPI protocols
- Knowledge of runtime environment, diagnostics, communication stacks, microcontroller abstraction, non-volatile memory, and bootloader implementation
- Understanding of processor architecture, memory management, device drivers, compiler environments, and safety-critical modules such as secure boot and fault detection (advantageous)
- Experience with Vector DaVinci, GENY, Tresos, Enterprise Architect, CANoe, CANalyzer, CANstress
- Solid knowledge of Automotive SPICE, ISO 26262, MISRA, software debugging, and testing methodologies
- Expertise in software architecture, documentation, version control, and change management
- Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
- Polished communication and collaboration skills
- Agile certification and team management experience (advantageous)
- Flexibility for shift timings and changing business needs
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (BE, BTech, ME, MTech)
