About the Role

As an Animal Caretaker at Prestage, you'll work directly with livestock in a hands-on environment, ensuring the health, welfare, and proper management of the animals under your care. This is a full-time position based in Pheba, Mississippi, offering the opportunity to develop expertise in animal husbandry and agricultural operations while contributing to a company that prioritizes animal care standards and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care, feeding, and watering for livestock according to company protocols and animal welfare standards
• Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any signs of illness or injury to supervisory staff
• Maintain clean and sanitary living spaces and facilities for the animals
• Assist with breeding, birthing, and handling procedures as directed
• Record and document animal care activities and observations
• Operate and maintain equipment and facilities used in animal management
• Support vaccination, medication, and other routine care procedures
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a secure working environment

What We're Looking For

• Physical ability to perform manual labor in an agricultural setting, including lifting and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Genuine interest in animal welfare and agricultural production
• Reliability and the ability to work a full-time schedule, which may include early mornings and weekend work
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively as part of a team
• Basic mathematical and communication skills
• Prior livestock experience is valued but not required—we provide on-the-job training
