PolicyStreet seeks an experienced Head of Technology to lead our technology strategy and engineering teams in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time leadership opportunity to shape the future of our digital platform serving the Malaysian insurance market.
Role Overview
As Head of Technology, you will own the vision, strategy, and execution of all technology initiatives across PolicyStreet. You'll lead a talented engineering team, drive architectural decisions, and ensure our platform scales reliably to serve hundreds of thousands of users. This role reports directly to senior leadership and sits at the centre of our product, engineering, and business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and communicate the technology roadmap aligned with business objectives
- Build, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams
- Oversee system architecture, cloud infrastructure, and technology stack decisions
- Drive continuous improvement in code quality, deployment processes, and system reliability
- Lead technical recruitment and cultivate a strong engineering culture
- Manage technology budgets and optimise resource allocation
- Collaborate with product, operations, and finance teams to deliver customer-centric solutions
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to insurance technology
Who We're Looking For
- Proven experience (8+ years) in technology leadership or senior engineering management roles
- Deep technical expertise in cloud platforms, backend systems, and modern software architecture
- Demonstrated success building and scaling engineering teams in fast-growing companies
- Strong understanding of product development, user experience, and business metrics
- Experience in regulated industries (financial services, insurance, or similar) preferred
- Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strategic mindset with hands-on capability to unblock technical challenges
- Based in or willing to relocate to Kuala Lumpur
