About This Position
As a Senior Software Engineer - Platform at Mirai Arabian International Company Limited, you'll take ownership of core platform systems, working across the full technology stack to build robust, scalable solutions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture, establish best practices, and mentor junior engineers. Based in Riyadh, you'll focus on solving complex technical challenges and delivering systems that drive business impact.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain platform services and infrastructure that support company-wide applications
- Write clean, well-tested code and establish engineering standards across teams
- Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability across production environments
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to technical decision-making
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term fixes to prevent recurrence
- Participate in architectural planning and system design discussions
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with proven expertise in platform or backend systems
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, Go, C++, or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, databases, APIs, and microservices architecture
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable, production-grade systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguous requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
